Money problems are often the reason cited when someone decides to end a marriage. Being in love is great but it can blind people from noticing their partner’s flaws. After sharing a life for a few years differing opinions on how to handle joint finances can come to a boil.
Though the most common example is someone living beyond their means and forcing a family into debt by buying things they can’t afford, there are other examples. Sometimes people are too frugal and go without life’s simple comforts in an attempt to pinch every single penny. Other times they pressure their spouses into prostitution because of the extra income it brings it. Wait, what?
This is precisely what happened to a 38-year-old woman from Pennsylvania who was arrested earlier this month. During the investigation it was revealed that she didn’t want to fuck all those guys for money, but her husband threatened to leave her if she didn’t keep selling sexual favors.
I guess when you develop a taste for name brand cereal and premium cable you don’t care how the bills get paid.
A few months ago we read a similar story from Russia where a man discovered his wife was a prostitute when she arrested in a televised sting. The woman in this instance claimed she turned to prostitution to make ends meet after her husband couldn’t find work. Though the man never questioned where the money was coming from, he promptly divorced his wife after finding out what she was doing. How rude.
In this case from Pennsylvania the husband not only knew what his wife was doing, he helped set the whole thing up!
Scott Allen Shadle and his wife Rebecca advertised her services on the internet and used their apartment to arrange sex-for-cash services. Given this complete lack of any attempt to hide their identities, it’s hard to believe they were caught.
It was during this time their phones were confiscated and in the process of logging their text conversations with clients into evidence, it was discovered Scott threatened to leave Rebecca and contact her social worker if she quit. In an age where everyone has a side hustle but your car is too shitty to be an Uber driver, you make do.
It just goes to show you that crime doesn’t pay. Although in this case the crime in question pays pretty well. I guess it’s more accurate to say getting caught doesn’t pay, so if you’re going to run an escort service with your wife you should avoid using your home address as its headquarters.
