The only thing more entertaining than true stories about ghosts and spirits are the television shows that pander to the people who believe them- not that I’m claiming to be any better. While I don’t believe in anything supernatural I still refuse to sleep with my feet hanging off the bed because I think monsters will grab me. You never know!
My favorite kind of spooky reality television is the genre where people claim to hunt ghosts. Watching these guys walk around holding Radio Shack’s finest smoke detectors and stud finders trying to identify ghost particles is enthralling. These hunters wade through the suspense with infrared cameras as if they’re about to make humanity’s greatest discovery.
In the end, however, they find anything conclusive. Until now!
A 37-year-old ghost hunter named Mike Covell was looking for signs of specters in a graveyard in Yorkshire when he stumbled upon the find of his career. Instead of finding ghouls or apparitions, Mike wandered onto the set of someone filming a porn scene in the 170-year-old grave yard. Cool!
Covell, who was leading a group of about 12 novice ghost hunters on a tour of the cemetery, found his way to a small patch of ivy where he a man and woman having sex while two other men filmed them. After noticing the seasoned paranormal expert, uh, observing them for some time, the woman covered herself up and ran away while the crew scrambled to figure out what was going on.
Cooler heads prevailed and the both film crew and Covell’s group walked away from the experience no worse for wear, although the local Neighborhood Association did call the filming of a sex scene in public “very distasteful.” Hmph! Prudes.
Personally I would be pretty stoked if I was on a boring ghost hunting tour and wandered into a porno shoot. Throw some mummy bandages and some special effects out there and you could make some hardcore ghost-fucking part of the experience. I’d totally pay for that.
