Plastic Surgery Ad For “Designer Vagina” Banned

Post image for Plastic Surgery Ad For “Designer Vagina” Banned

Some joker at the London Bridge Plastic Surgery clinic thought it would be cool to make ladies feel bad about their vaginas in order to sell them on the idea of getting plastic surgery.

Labiaplasty

Really?

Designer vaginas” are all the rage these days, because women are made to feel like they need perfect little clamshell labia OR ELSE, or else they’re not sexually appealing.

Clam-Shell-Vadge

Clam, is that you?

Said ad was banned for using language like “achieve a more natural appearance” and “relieve the discomfort caused by enlarged labia.” Some people might call that censorship, but I call that progress. Why should anyone be made to feel like their body isn’t natural?

Anti-porn feminists like to blame porn for the idea that all vaginas should look the same, but these anti-porn Peepz are usually from an older generation where a woman’s labia was often airbrushed into oblivion as to avoid obscenity charges and the like. Nudity is art, you see, but pussy lips are obscene.

Take a look a pornstars these days and you’ll see a variety of pussy shapes and sizes:

Match that snatch?

To quote an article, This Ain’t No Porn Star Vagina: Large Labias Need Love Too, from Jezebel:

The Large Labia Project (NSFW), a popular Tumblr that encourages women to pull back the curtains on their curtains, has pages and pages of photo submissions of anonymous vulvas, almost entirely from women who are insecure about their vagina’s appearance. Emma, the blog’s 24-year-old creator, told Salon, “A whole generation of young women who have grown up with ready access to the Internet are learning about their bodies and sexuality through this medium…Often the first and only way girls get to have a good look at other girls’ naked genitals is through pornography, [which gives] a false view of what real women look like.”

Huh, excuse me, but have you meet Christy Mack?

Or how about Kacey Jordan?

Jada Fire?

These are all pornstars with vastly different looks, body types, and labia. Don’t give me this shit that porn is to blame for insecurities about large pussy lips. There’s plenty of blame to go around when it comes to body shame, but I don’t think that porn is the culprit in this particular instance. Google “pornstars with large labia” and you’ll find a jizzload of appreciation threads.

Large labia get plenty of love around these parts and I don’t think that women should be made to feel ashamed or like their body is unnatural, because they have large labia minora. I glad that ad for “designer vaginas” got banned. People are obviously free to do what they want with their bodies, but if your decision to get labiaplasty is based in shame and insecurity, I would seek out the help of a good therapist instead of a plastic surgeon.
