Vitamin D is one of those major vitamins that are do or die, mostly though, it’s associated with S.A.D. (seasonal affective disorder), you know, the winter disease. Depending on where you live winter can be a harsh mistress what with the cold weather and the shorter daylight hours.
Some people head in to work when it’s still dark and only head home after the sun has already set for the day. The problem with that is that exposure to the sun is how we produce vitamin D. Without the sun we are sad sacks of excuses for human beings, or so I’m told, that’s why I bought one of those ridiculously expensive sun lamps.
The damn lamp didn’t do much for my mood or my health and that’s why it currently lives in my closet. It’s the same reason I don’t take vitamin D. Oh, I’ve tried it, but Lola on vitamin D is the same as Lola not on vitamin D. However, the same cannot be said about Lola getting the D and Lola not getting the D.
Oh Lord, I laughed so hard when I saw this ad from the Yukon Department of Health and Social Services.
It’s priceless! Apparently, the Peepz over at the Yukon Department of Health and Social Services knew that the D was slang for sex when they used it in the ads *sure, sure* but that they weren’t aware that it was as crass as people are now saying it is.
Um, hello Yukon Peepz: What did you think the letter D stood for in that particular innuendo? Clearly you had no idea and you’re just trying to save face. Ten bucks says the person who came up with the ad in the first place was fired for trying to pass one over the department heads.
A spokesperson for the Yukon Blah Blah Blah has said that all the ads have been removed, which personally kinda makes me sad, because how else is a single man in his 30s going to know he needs the D?
