As an American it makes me proud that one of our very own B list celebrities has made it into the royal family. Knowing the Queen will be just a few degrees of separation from the cast of Psych will be a great source of national pride for me and anyone else who also has cable TV.
While Meghan Markle’s acting career may have never reached the heights of fame her upcoming marriage will bring her to, this isn’t to say she isn’t deserving of the spotlight. Searches for Meghan Markle spiked by more than 2200% during the hours after around the official wedding announcement. One of the lesser talked about consequences of being beautiful and famous is the popularity of porn stars who look like you. Meghan is already well known for her work on the legal drama Suits, but after the announcement she would be marrying Prince Harry the whole world wanted to see someone who looks vaguely like her have sex.
When we look at which countries experienced an increase in Meghan searches, it becomes obvious where people have suddenly taken an interest in the British royal family.
Proud of their hometown heroine, the United States was most curious about what Pornhub has to offer and second was the United Kingdom trying to find out more about their newest royal. Given the world’s obsession with the royal family it’s no surprise that countries all over the world saw a drastic increase in searches for Meghan Markle.
