Depending on the culture you originate from, living with family members as an adult can carry a negative stereotype. I’ve lived with different family members for most of my adult life and have always enjoyed being able to contribute to the household and care for parents, grandparents, or siblings. Still, I have also lived alone before can definitely see the appeal of having your own space in the world.

This is what a man from Japan found out when an earthquake topped a shelf in his bedroom exposing a neatly hidden cache of anime porn books, figurines, and DVDs. When his parents inspected the house for any damage they noticed the mess, causing quite a bit of embarrassment for their son. Oops.
The story was shared first hand through social media and nobody really knows what happened after the man’s massive anime porn collection was exposed. Hopefully he didn’t have to go dump it in a park.
We once read about an elderly man from Osaka who was caught by police trying to dump nearly a quarter ton of porn in a public park to help a bedridden friend. After he was approached by officers they discovered he was attempting to abandon 17 stacks of magazines and more than 500 VHS tapes. The man said his friend was ill and that he was trying to help rid him of the collection “out of good will,” perhaps so concerned family members wouldn’t find it and cause any embarrassment.
Still, I’m never quite sure what passes for acceptable in Japan anymore.
I’ll read about people who take their life-size sex dolls into restaurants for dates but then get embarrassed because they didn’t dress them properly in a single news story. Apparently when you draw the line as to what is or isn’t acceptable you can go ahead and count anime porn as something to be generally ashamed of. Good to know!
