I’m always shocked by what items the TSA decides are too dangerous to bring onto airplanes. While obvious weapons like nunchucks, throwing stars, and bottles of liquid greater than 3.4 oz. should be banned, other items make no sense at all.
The truth is any object can be dangerous in the wrong hands, and the only things that are restricted are the ones someone else has already used as a weapon. According to a recent news report out of Florida, this may now include dildos.
Wait, what?
Earlier this month police were called to the home of 57-year-old Annette Kielhurn and her partner Gamze Capaner-Ridley. The couple had apparently gotten into a heated argument over ownership of a dress before police were called in to intervene. Now in the presence of a police officer, Kielhurn continued to argue with her partner before shoving a dildo in her face and grabbing her arm.
She was promptly arrested and charged with battery. Whoops!
Though not exactly a hardened criminal, this wasn’t Kielhurn’s first brush with the law. She previously served three years in prison for a narcotics trafficking conviction in 1996. This time, however, she was released on a $500 dollar bond and will hopefully resolve everything with her partner in a peaceful manner from now on.
Oddly enough, this Florida woman’s dildo fencing isn’t the first time we’ve read about sex toys being used as a weapon.
Back in 2014, a Queensland man was arrested for breaking into an adult store and assaulting the clerk with a volley of merchandise. In this instance the random masturbatory aides that became weaponized were new. Odds are good that the dildo used to assault Ms. Capaner-Ridley had been lovingly used by at least one person.
For some reason that seems a lot worse.
