Ain’t love grand? William Cornelius Jr., 25, proposed forever lasting love and marriage to, Sheri Moore, 20, at a local Bay City Walmart in front of a retinue of customers and employees. Obviously, Sheri said yes, because who says no to a Walmart proposal?! But not all that’s well ends well, because the two love birds were subsequently arrested for stealing a few essentials, including edible panties and a sex toy, at a nearby store.
After the engagement to end all engagements:
“Cornelius bought an engagement ring at Walmart for $29.62. Cornelius then asked an employee to read a proposal note over the store’s loudspeaker, asking for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. Police say surveillance footage from the store captured the event, which shows the couple surrounded by a group of applauding shoppers.”
The modern Romeo and Juliet to be headed out to a nearby mall where employees at a Spencer’s Gift store (who are clearly not as cool as Walmart employees) called the cops on Cornelius and his fiance, because the two were acting suspiciously.
The cops intercepted Moore who denied stealing anything despite the fact that she was wearing a shitload of jewelry stolen from Walmart: gold earrings, silver chain, and silver star pendant. As for Cornelius, when he was searched police found: “a watch, that aforementioned edible thong, that also aforementioned a sex toy, as well as panties and “sex candy” that were taken from Spencer’s” all of which were stolen as gifts for his fiance.
Not bad as far as love stories go, but obviously the moral of the story is that you should never steal from the same store where you got engaged, because that’s just bad luck.
