We rag on prudes on this website a lot, but it’s kind of hard to avoid given our nature. Though our actual goal is to simply exist on search engines to help funnel traffic into the Pornhub Network, we take pride in being generally positive about sexuality in all of the forms and variations we come across.

Prudes on the other hand tend to view sex as something married men and women should do to create babies and view anything else as deviancy. There have been various politicians and religious leaders over the years who adamantly oppose premarital sex, masturbation, porn and other awesome things. Though we usually don’t agree with their opinions, we at least appreciate that they ground their arguments using some form of logic.
And then there’s this preacher from Alabama who claims that sex is bad because it lowers your IQ while causing homelessness. Wait, what?
The unnamed preacher surfaced in a YouTube sermon that went viral after being removed from its original source. In the nearly 10-minute long video the man describes what he sees as a culture obsessed with sex that is causing pretty much all of the world’s problems. Elaborating on his views, the preacher says:
“Sex has never been ordained by God. In fact, it was the first sin, Adam and Eve and the serpent. And you see what happened to the serpent on that. But, like I say, sex is the problem. If you don’t mention sex, two men or two women can live together, share a place, have a place, and one can leave whatever she got, and they can have a ‘merge partner,’ they call it.”
Basically, his point is that if sinners don’t sin they aren’t sinners anymore. Also if you don’t talk to him about sex anymore he won’t have to get the heebie-jeebies all the time.
If you thought regular consensual baby-making sex between a man and a woman was ok with him, you’d be wrong. Though most religious activists we’ve come across recognize sex and an important part of the biological success of humanity, this guy thinks even conception sucks. He states “sex is […] here for the world to multiply, and that was kind of a punishment. It’s never been ordained by God. It’s not sanctified by God.”
That’s pretty brutal.

While this man is clearly upset about the prevalence of sex in whatever CBS shows he watches in the late afternoon before bed, he’s not entirely wrong. Being obsessed with sex can cause a lot of problems.
Personally, if I wasn’t motivated by sex my life wouldn’t be nearly as complicated as it is now. The drive to be an attractive mate is the leading cause of having to get a full time job and exercise, which has really been bumming me out lately.
