Is it too soon? Is this totally déclassé? Probably. But, and bear with me here, doing a Throw Back Thursday featuring Carrie Fisher after she just died isn’t a totally gross way to capitalize on her untimely demise, but rather it’s a way to celebrate her beauty, her charm, and her wit in a time of sorrow.
I was too young when this issue of Rolling Stone came out and for some reason, despite being an avid Star Wars fan, I had never seen these pictures of Carrie Fisher before today and I must say: “Dayum!
These pics of Carrie Fisher are funny, irreverent, and sexy, which is basically my favorite combination. The fact that she’s frolicking on the beach with Darth Vader, as well as an Ewok, and a Gamorrean is just the icing on the fucking brilliant sundae!
Pictures eight, nine, and ten are currently giving me life. As much fun as it is to see Carrie Fisher jump into Darth Vader’s arms, I much prefer those three pictures of her in the water. It’s those spontaneous open-mouthed smiles that are stoking the fires. She just looks so happy and full of life that I find myself falling in love with her just a little.
Carrie Fisher will be missed. May she rest in peace.
