I’ve got some slightly controversial opinions Peepz. Sometimes celebrities jump on bandwagons and it really pisses me off. The fact that so many influencers are running to create an OnlyFans page with their palms up waiting for money is honestly infuriating.
I know what you’re thinking, “Harlot, why are you even wasting your energy being worried about what celebrities are doing?”
You’re right Peepz…but this situation hit so close to home for me and there are double standards all over the place.
When sex workers are looking for a platform to express themselves, they get shunned and punished. Paypal won’t work with them…Since Venmo is owned by the same company, they won’t do business. If you get caught using Paypal and you’re a sex worker, they will shut your shit down and confiscate every dime for months at a time.
Trust me. I know.
My issue with celebrities joining a platform that was originally billed as adult entertainment is that so many sex workers are still being stigmatized for showing skin. If celebrities can upload content and charge a fee, why should other people feel shame for doing so.
A lot of celebs are saying that OnlyFans is just that…it’s only for their fans. If people want to play a premium fee to subscribe to visual content, good on them.
While some influencers are just getting in the game to cash in, Bella Thorne seems to be doing it to take a stand. She posted a link to a recent interview in Paper Magazine where she proudly poses in a pink bikini with a SEX necklace on.
That’s the type of boundary that I’m into pushing. Let the people know that it’s fucked up for women to be stigmatized for being sexual beings. I don’t know how I feel about Blac Chyna charging $75 a month for sensual pictures, but if people are paying it, good on her.
Here’s how she announced to the world that she was taking to the explicit platform:
Cash, money dollars is the name of the game but like Missy says, “Girls, girls, get that cash. If it’s 9 to 5 or shaking your ass. Ain’t no shame, ladies do your thing. Just make sure you ahead of the game,”
