In 1981, Marta Thomsen posed nude in the February issue of Playboy Italy and as far as I’m concerned she knocked it out of the park. There’s a certain quality to vintage nude pics that you don’t see these days. I don’t know if it’s because these pictures were taken on actual film that we see that soft quality, like a halo of hazy light, to the pictures or if it’s just the style they were going for back then, but we never see that anymore.
These days it’s all super sharp, bright as fuck, and photoshopped to hell. Although, to be fair, Playboy seems to be trying to recapture that vintage feel with their new artistic direction. That said, that’s something they could have achieved without doing away with full-frontal nudity. It was their overly fake/airbrushed look that was killing the magazine… not the nudity. Although, I’ve gotta say… the no bush clause has been making it possible for more celebs to appear in the magazine while still retaining their innocence.
I don’t speak or read Italian, so I can’t tell you anything about Marta, but from the pics I get the impression that she was a jetsetting stewardess who wanted to explore her sexy side by posing for Playboy. I like that off the cuff vibe of deciding to do a nude pictorial just for the hell of it, you know, not because you need money and not because you’re trying to jumpstart or revive some kind of career.
If Marta is sill kicking, I hope she looks back at this pictorial with fondness. That’s what I’m doing. I’m looking at Marta with a special kind of fondness that can only be described as fap, fap, fap. It’s all that bush and those puffy nipples, they’re driving me nuts!
