Jenna Manson is Lovely

I’ve been sick as fuck for the past few weeks and haven’t left my house much. Honestly, before this Friday, I hadn’t left my house except to go to the doctor/hospital in nearly 11 days. I haven’t been this sick in ages, if not forever.

Pneumonia is totally no joke.

To celebrate my escape from illness, my girlfriend and my bff took me to the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market on Saturday. There was a lot of regular flea market fare…but I loved all the art that we saw. My best friend (who is recently single after a tedious, and relatively sexless, 7 year relationship) is looking to create a dungeon in his extra bedroom. He has never been much into décor or anything, and he wants some sensual, sexy and manly things to hang on his walls. We walked up and down the aisles for a few hours until we came upon a small booth with signs that read, “No Photographs,” all over the pictures.

The photographs were exactly what we were both looking for.

Each image was of a woman dressed in states of creepy undress. Some were taken in graveyards, some were in candlelight, but they were all sexy and dark. I could have spent the whole day picking out my favorite details of each shot.

A friendly woman working the booth started chatting us up about prices and the flea market in general. My best friend asked her if she was the photographer. She admitted that, not only was she the photographer, but she was also the model in each image.

Here name is Jenna Manson and she had my complete attention.

Self-portraits are extremely difficult to take, especially when you are trying to capture something specific, like intimacy. Nearly the whole time that I had been making amateur porn for Xtube, I had been on the hunt for someone to work the camera because the degree of difficulty of shooting interesting pictures and video of myself was very high. Most people don’t realize how much time, effort and energy it takes to create erotic images all by yourself. Not only do you have to figure out the setting, wardrobe and lighting for each shot, then you have to run back and forth from behind to in front of the camera while trying to make your images look natural.

The pictures that Jenna has captured of herself evoke a depth and a sexiness that completely impressed me. It was like my nightmares and fantasies were all the same thing. I ended up purchasing a small framed portrait where she is wearing a sheep mask and black thigh-high stockings, while my best friend purchased a large poster where she is kneeling in the middle of a circle of candles.

This is totally the type of sexy art that I love supporting and talking about. Porno is always awesome, but there’s something about the tease of erotic photography that gets into my soul, especially when you’re able to talk to the artist about their work and get a glimpse of who they really are.
