We’ve read a lot of stories about couples having sex on airplanes and they almost always end with someone getting arrested. The constant threat of terrorism has the world on edge and nobody is on higher alert than airline security. How a couple getting their rocks off endangers the safety of a flight remains a mystery.
At least that’s how one Norwegian airline feels.
Earlier this month passengers on a Norwegian Air Shuttle were left shocked and amused when flight attendants made a special announcement. Instead of the usual spiel about a crew member’s birthday or a warning about the inflight meal, they instead alerted the whole plane about a couple who was currently in the bathroom having sex. Hmm!
After the announcement was made, the couple exited the bathroom to a volley of cheers, applause, and laughter. They then sat in their seats for the rest of the flight while the plane gossiped and snickered out of envy.
Nobody knows how flight attendants found out what the couple was doing in the bathroom. Someone must have seen the kinky duo go in together and simply put the pieces together. Since nobody was harmed or put at risk as a result of their midflight romp, the police were not notified and the plane landed in Paris without incident.
Flight crew never bothered to make note of the names of the pair who were caught in flagrante delicto. The airline simply acknowledged that the pair were caught having sex and everyone had a good laugh about it. This is quite a different story from how these kinds of stories play out in America.
A few years ago we read about a couple who were arrested for their high-flying sexy antics.
In that case, the couple was stupid enough to sexually stimulate each other in their seats as opposed to the privacy of the bathroom. For their trouble they received charges for committing lewd and obscene acts and were arrested as soon as the plane landed. Womp womp.
While nobody on board the Norwegian flight was arrested for their nefarious fucking, a spokesperson for the airline did assert that such behavior is not encouraged on their airlines. Those bathrooms are for people to immediately start pooping in so that the entire plane can smell like fart and hand sanitizer, not for people who are living more exciting lives than the rest of us to have sex in.
