For Nicki Minaj, Position Is Everything

Back in like…2002 maybe…a group of my friends and I went into NYC to check out Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum. It’s a fun tourist trap that gives you all of the celeb encounter adrenalin high without any of the restraining nonsense…for the most part, anyway.

My favorite memory from that day was taking my picture with Tony Bennett, mostly because his statue was the perfect height to cup my boob and snap the most fantastic picture in the universe. It’s a fucking classic moment in my life that kind of defined me as a pervert because I was the only one of my friends who wasn’t afraid to take a suggestive picture when the opportunity presented itsel

I spent about two hours tonight looking for the damn thing and I couldn’t find it. I know that it was hanging up on my fridge in my old apartment, but I guess it got packed into the wrong box sometime during the move.

Anyway…

The fun part of a place like Madame Tussaud’s is taking pictures of yourself in ridiculous poses while strangers point and laugh at you.

Nikki Minaj’s brandy new wax figure is in a class by itself…and now the museum has increased security around her statue to avoid the straight up sexual pics that people are taking with her.

Now, don’t get me wrong…I love a good bootie and everything, and I’ve watched the video for Anaconda like a zillion times…

but you made a wax figure of this entertainer on her knees wearing a chain bikini and some bootie shorts and claim that you didn’t expect that response from the public? Do you not live in the same world of Perversion that the rest of us do? If I was in the same room as that statue, I’d be smacking Nikki’s bootie like crazy, because it’s a fantasy of mine that will never come true in real life.

Nikki seems to love the idea of her statue’s pose, and said on her Instagram that she would have gone to Vegas for the great unveiling if she realized that they were actually making the statue look like that.

Here’s a head up to Madame Toussauds…People take sexualized pictures with your wax figures all the freaking time. That’s half the fun of going to your museum. Increasing the security detail around one statue is only going to make people try harder with the rest of your collection.

I consider it a challenge.
