Jesus, this is a twisted story. You’ve all heard of Jackie Kennedy Onassis I’m assuming, you know, the wife of John F. Kennedy (a.k.a. the President of the United States… at least, until he was assassinated in 1963). Yeah, that’s the one. Well, after her husband was killed she married a rich Greek dude by the name of Aristotle Onassis. Why those two ended up together I have no idea? The man cheated on her throughout their entire marriage with opera singer Maria Callas. He wasn’t very discreet about it either.
Ari used to refer to his wife as “The Widow” and he was happy when Bobby Kennedy was assassinated just like his brother, because he felt like that cut off all of Jackie’s ties with the Kennedys once and for all. Apparently, that wasn’t enough to satisfy the guy, because he felt like Jackie needed to learn her place in the world and stay there. Of course, the only way Ari could take his wife down a peg or two was to give detailed instructions (maps, times, etc) to ten different photographers so they could put on wet suits and swim out to a private beach in Skorpios where “The Widow” would be sunbathing.
The resulting nude pictures of Jackie O initially ran in the Italian skin mag Playmen, but it wasn’t until they were picked up by Larry Flynt’s Hustler that they became an international sensation earning Jackie the moniker “The Million Dollar Bush.” If that wasn’t enough of a dick move, as soon as the pics were published Ari went to a lawyer to start divorce proceedings. Unfortunately, the dude dropped dead before the divorce was finalized.
Jackie had signed a prenup before marrying Ari (whose net worth was estimated to be several billion dollars) that made it clear she wouldn’t get more than $3 million dollars in the event of a divorce. Given the fact that he died while they were still officially married, “The Million Dollar Bush” received $26 million dollars after Ari’s death. Karma is a bitch.
