“I’m more open-minded in my 50s than I was in my 20s,” says Karen Summer. “I have a better understanding of things now.” After a 20-year hiatus, Summer is returning to porn at the age of 52. Popular in the eighties, Summer left the business in her late 20s, as most girls do. When asked why she’s making her comeback now, Summer stated, “I moved back to L.A., ran into old friends, and decided it would be fun.”

She never dreamed of getting back into porn and says it certainly wasn’t the reason why she moved back to Los Angeles, but now that she’s reentered porn, Summer’s found an entirely new fan base. “Thanks to the Internet, I’ve been hearing from people all over the world! They say I’m beautiful and sexy at my age,” says Summer. “And I had no idea that younger men, somany younger men like older women.”

Nina-Hartley

Nina Hartley is my favorite GILF.

“Most people just throw them out,” says Jack Lamon of Come As You Are, a sex toy co-op in Toronto that’s one of the few shops to promote a sex toy recycling program. “Since sex toys have been in existence, they’ve been going into landfills.” That’s because most municipalities in North America will not recycle them.

To counter this, Come As You Are encourages people to drop off or mail in their unwanted vibrators and silicone sex toys (after they’re thoroughly cleaned) and the co-op will handle the recycling from there. In return, they offer a 15 percent discount coupon for future purchases, and a little peace of mind.

Recycling

I’m still trying to figure out how to recycle CFL light bulbs. Those things have mercury in them, you can’t just throw them in the trash.

It’s a strap-on, that headset. No two ways around it. A blindfold, too. With headphones, if you really want to do this right. Now, throw in some kind of artificial orifice, like a Fleshlight, or some other newfangled creation in the burgeoning field of teledildonics, and ask yourself: How does it feel? Amazing? The porn industry imagines that it does, just as it imagines you, deaf and blind and draped in technology, are excited, even turned on.

Virtual-Porn

The author obviously isn’t turned on by the prospect of virtual porn, but I think it sounds kind of neat. Is their progress to be made? Yes, but that doesn’t mean we should chuck the whole shebang.
