Priscilla Barnes joined the cast of Three’s Company as the token blonde during the show’s last three seasons, from 1981 to 1984. The original blonde was played by one Suzanne Somers, but due to a contract dispute she was eventually replaced by Jenilee Harrison who was in turn replaced by Priscilla Barnes.
You may remember her from Three’s Company:
You can knock on our door…
For a show that only ran for 8 seasons they sure had a hard time holding on to their blondes. Loosing a major character not once, but twice didn’t hurt the ratings, however, as each new blonde was just as popular as the last. Sure, most people will remember Suzanne Somers when they think about Three’s Company, but not me. I think of Priscilla Barnes and her long legs.
I always loved that part of the intro.
*Aside: Did you know that baby flamingos are born with white feathers? They only turn pink after a while, because of all the shrimp they eat. True story.*
I blame my grandfather for introducing me to Three’s Company and for my love of Priscilla Barnes. Me thinks he was also a leg man. I can’t imagine my grandfather buying a skin mag – for some reason that seems more like the purview of my father and my brother – nonetheless, I wonder if he was aware that Priscilla posed nude in a 1976 issue of Penthouse Magazine under the alias Joann Witty before she ever made it onto Three’s Company?! I would ask him, but he’s dead.
